Norman W. Taylor

Norman W. Taylor, of Seguin, TX, formerly of Albion, PA, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2008 in Seguin, TX. He was born October 30, 1916 in Lundy's Lane, Elk Creek Township, one of thirteen children of the late Ralph and Martha Ball Taylor.

Norman was the last surviving child of his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight sisters, Celia Penfield, Zora Stevens, Arlie Kean, Frances Scalise, Sylvia Jones, Marion Lawrence, Zella Drury, and his twin sister Nora Sherman, and four brothers, Mearl, Glenn, Gleed, and Hugh Taylor.

On May 14, 1940 he married the love of his life, Josephine Lavery, and they had 57 wonderful years together before her death in 1997. They had three children, all surviving; Norman and his wife, Bonnie, of Mayo, FL, Patricia & Charlene, both of Seguin, TX.

Surviving grandchildren are Tad and his wife Yulia, Tawney, Tabby and her husband Larry, Shara and her husband Will, Jennifer, Connie, Tricia and her husband Doug, Judy and her husband Rick. Great grandchildren are Tiffany, Alexis, Taylor, Hunter, Trae, Cory, Nicholas, Lauren, Meagan, Ryan, Ian, Jenna, Courtney, Julia, Kaylin, and Austin. One great great grandson, Hunter.

Norman was a 50 year member of the Cherry Hill Grange. He enjoyed farming, woodworking, building and laying block for many houses in the Albion area. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and trapper, and spent many happy hours in Jumbo Woods, on the banks of Conneaut Creek, and fishing in Lake Erie. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family.

Friends may call the Steff-Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m., and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Albion Cemetery. The family requests memorials be made to a charity of one's choice.
