David L. Greider Sr., 77, of Albion, passed away at home on Thursday, March 27, 2008 after a long illness. He was born February 10, 1931, the youngest son of Fredrick and Agnes Greider.

He was born and raised in Rochester, NY. He served his country during the Korean War, and then worked for many years at Eastman Kodak. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and watching baseball.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers & sisters. He is survived by his faithful friend and companion of 42 years, his common law wife, Sarah Fiesler, of Albion, an older sister, Dorothy Reichhart of Henrietta, NY, his children, Gary Greider, of CA, Gloria Greider of CA, Gordon Greider of TN, George Greider of WA state, Beverly Greider of CA, Laura Steinhoff and her husband Martin of Union City, PA, David Greider Jr. and his wife, Tonna, of Albion, his step-children, Kathleen Rayburn and her husband, of Albion, Sally Hemstreet of Albion, Theresa Strange and her husband George of Albion, Marilyn Fiesler of Albion, Art Fiesler and his wife, Kim, of Albion, Robert Fiesler of OH, Holly Cooner and her husband, Gene, of OH, Timmothy Fiesler of Albion, and a special friend and daughter-in-law, Helen Theresa Vonvolkenberg, of Erie. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, grand children, and great grand children.

Friends may call the Steff-Mattera Funeral Home, 188 East State Street, Albion, on Sunday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Allan Thorpe of Albion Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
