Frances O. Jeffrey Repsher Johnson Bigelow
Frances O. Jeffrey Repsher Johnson Bigelow, 85, of Millcreek and formerly of Girard, died Tuesday morning January 3, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness. A resident of the Erie area most of her life she was born in Long Branch, NJ on July 18, 1926 a daughter of the late Charles O. and Hilda Cowdrick Jeffrey.
Frances originally worked at Erie High Frequency Co. and went on to work as a quality control inspector with Erie Resistor Co. for 11 years before retiring in 1976. She was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church and enjoyed counted cross stitch, embroidery, reading, sewing, traveling, flea markets, and yard sales.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one grandson, Eric Wolf; one granddaughter, Victoria Rea; one stepdaughter, Mary D. Kreider; and one stepgranddaughter, Jennifer Kreider.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Donald Bigelow; one son, William J. Johnson and his wife Rita of Lake City, PA; two daughters, Trish Barron and her husband Tom of McKean, PA and Sandra Nordstrom of Phoenix, AZ; four stepsons, Michael Bigelow of Oregon, Daniel Bigelow and his wife Karen of New Mexico, Richard Bigelow and his wife Michelle of Millcreek, and John Bigelow and his wife Wendy of Ashtabula, OH; four stepdaughters, Peggy Rudolph of Palm Coast, Fl, Lynne Niebauer of Las Vegas, NV, Michele Farrell and her husband Robert of Harborcreek, and Patricia Whiddon and her husband David of Miami, FL; two sisters, Bertha Baker of Dunedon, FL and Patricia Fiore of Highlands, NJ; 18 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road, on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of services there at 4 p.m.. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
