Bruno G. Ambrose

Bruno G. Ambrose, 94, a resident of St. Mary's Home East and formerly of Atlantic Avenue and St. Joseph's Apartments, died Monday morning November 28, 2011 at St. Mary's Home East. A resident of Erie all of his life he was born June 8, 1917 a son of the late Joseph and Argia "Mary" Chechinni Ambrose.

Bruno was a 1936 graduate of Academy High School and went on to serve in the United States Army during World War II. He was a Personnel Manager with McGinnis Steel and Penn Union and went on to become owner of Neth & Co. Heating and Air Conditioning for 10 years. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a member of the Zukor Club, East Erie Turners, and the Siebenbuerger Club. He enjoyed playing chess, cards, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Vivian Dudley and one sister, Rena Franzoni.

Survivors include the love of his life and wife of 44 years, Stella "Betty" O'Shea Matheis Ambrose; one son, Dan Ambrose and his wife Karen of Erie; three daughters, Cynthia Fiske of Erie, Pattie Stempka and her husband Steve of North East, and Mary Murosky and her husband Tom of Chandler, AZ; 12 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road, on Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Friday at St. Mary's Home East from 10:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.. Burial with military honors will follow in Erie County Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary's Home East, 607 East 26th St., Erie, 16504.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary's Home East for their loving care given to Bruno during his time spent there.
