Ruth Anne Dunbar Allgeier

Ruth Anne Dunbar Allgeier, 71, of Greene Township, died Monday morning February 28, 2011 at Pleasant Ridge Manor East following a lengthy illness. A resident of Erie all of her life she was born on August 31, 1939 a daughter of the late Orrin and Beatrice Sterling Dunbar.

Ruth Ann originally worked for Erie Petroleum and Country Fair for many years before becoming a homemaker. She attended St. Boniface Catholic Church and was a member of Kuhl Hose Co. and the St. Boniface Ushers Club. She enjoyed camping, bowling, and history.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Eileen Simmons and Marie Johnstone; and one brother, Russell Dunbar.

Survivors include her husband of 10 years, Thomas Allgeier; two daughters, Brenda Thoma and her husband Tim and Kathy Little, all of Erie; two sons, Ray Little and Doyle Little, Jr., both of Erie; two sisters, Audrey Sanford and Carol Cravener and her husband Rich, all of Erie; one brother, Harold Dunbar and his wife Judy of Fresno, CA; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and her former husband, Doyle Little, Sr. of Girard. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Calling hours will be private and friends are invited to the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road, for a memorial service on Thursday at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Kuhl Hose Co., 3131 Rescue Lane, Erie, 16510.
