Joan M. Eichenlaub Johnson

Joan M. Eichenlaub Johnson, 82, of Wesleyville, died peacefully Saturday August 21, 2010 at her residence. A lifelong resident of Erie, she was born on August 16, 1928 a daughter of the late William and Ruth Serr Eichenlaub.

Joan was a 1946 graduate of Academy High School and went on to earn her degree in Art at Marymount College. She was a teacher at St. Luke's Catholic School for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed painting and was a member of the Presque Isle Artists Association. She also enjoyed golfing at Gospel Hill Golf Course for many years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl E. Johnson on July 22, 2002.

Survivors include one son, James Johnson and his wife Linda of Erie; two daughters, Karen Johnson and her husband John Landry of Cleveland, OH and Lori Johnson of Harborcreek; one brother, William Eichenlaub and his wife Thelma of Erie; and four grandchildren, Jake Landry, and Brady, Brian, and Adam Johnson. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road (corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave.) on Monday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to prayer services there on Tuesday morning at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.
