Leona Jamison Sheldon

Leona Jamison Sheldon, 67, of Erie, died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Millcreek Manor following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Erie on May 10, 1943, daughter of the late Orville and Ruby Nicewonger Jamison.

She was a 1961 graduate of McDowell High School and attended Erie Commercial College and Mercyhurst College. Leona was a secretary for Erie Collision and Penn Ohio Machinery Company for over 20 years. She also enjoyed her time in the garden and reading.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one grandson Corey Alan Robinson. She is survived by her husband Raymond Sheldon, three sons, Theodore W. Robinson of Meadville, Edward W. Robinson of Erie, and Dale A. Robinson and his wife Jill of Erie, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt and Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road (corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave.), on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service there at 7:00 p.m., with Rev. Mark Eberly officiating. In honoring Leona's wishes, she was donated to the LECOM Human Gifts Registry Program.
