Renee M. Sova Lorei

Renee M. Sova Lorei, 47, of Erie, died Friday evening July 16, 2010 at Hamot Medical Center. A resident of Erie all of her life she was born on August 2, 1962 a daughter of Florence Bielanin Sova and the late William Sova, who always called her his "Queenie".

Renee was a 1980 graduate of Villa Maria High School and went on to earn her B.S. in Computer Science and Business Administration from the University of California, Pennsylvania in 1984. She had worked as a case worker with the Erie County Assistance Office for 7 years. Previously she worked for Voices for Independence and Lake Shore Community Services. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. She was an avid Oakland Raiders fan and loved riding her motorcycle and camping.

In addition to her mother survivors include her husband of 14 years, John Lorei; one daughter, Hanna Lorei at home; three brothers, Terry Sova, Kevin Sova and his wife Sue, and Shawn Sova and his wife Muriel, all of Erie; one sister, Nan Janis and her husband Jim of Erie; 11 nieces and nephews, Tyler, Will, and Meg Sova, Danielle Hoderny and her husband Nathan, Andrea Lehman and her husband Paul, Jaclyn and Cole Janis, and Aaron, Rachael and Seth Sova, all of Erie; and one great niece, Nicole Hoderny.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road (corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave.) on Tuesday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to a prayer service there on Wednesday morning at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.
