Dorothy E. Crosby Cichetti

Dorothy E. Crosby Cichetti, 85, of Mayville, NY and formerly of Erie, died Wednesday evening July 14, 2010 at her residence following a brief illness. A resident of Erie most of her life she was born in Rockwood, PA on October 17, 1924 a daughter of the late Roy and Ollie Weimer Crosby.

Dorothy was employed with Bliley Electric Co. for 29 years before retiring in 1985. She was a member of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church and the Steeple People at Emmanuel. She also volunteered in the Friendship Ministry at Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Bliley Retirement Association and the Maennerchor Ladies Auxillary. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing golf at Glenwood Golf Course and Lawrence Park Golf Club and also loved to play bocci.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Samuel J. Cichetti and one grandson, Brian Milliman.

Survivors include one daughter, Diana Ward of Mayville, NY; two sisters, Helen Dombrowski and Yvonne Bonnell and her husband Chet, all of Erie; one brother, Blair Crosby and his wife Therese of Erie; one grandson; three granddaughters; and seven great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road (corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave; I-90 exit 29) on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to services there on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the John Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, 1001 State St., Suite 1400, Erie, 16501.
