Joyce Ann Buhite

Joyce Ann Buhite, 69, of Erie and formerly of Texas, died Sunday evening April 4, 2010 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center following a lengthy illness. A resident of Erie most of her life she was born in Sykesville, PA on February 9, 1941 a daughter of the late Harold "Huzzy" and Margaret Morris Buhite.

Joyce was a 1959 graduate of Ridgeway High School and went on to work as a reservation agent with American Airlines. Previously she worked at the G.E. for 20 years in the Aerospace Building. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, served as Eucharistic Minister, and was a member of many prayer groups. She loved gardening, scrapbooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include one son, Robert Buhite and his wife Jennifer of Oakdale, PA; one brother, Harold "Bud" Buhite of Euless, TX; four grandchildren, Seattle, Savanah, and Joey Buhite, and Jesse Franklin; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road, Erie, on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to prayer services there on Friday morning at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Boniface Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Mount of Olives Cemetery.
