Marjorie I. Ryan Eller

Marjorie I. Ryan Eller, 86, of Erie, died Friday evening March 12, 2010 at Sarah Reed Retirement Center following a lengthy illness with her loving family, clergy, and friends by her side. A resident of Erie all of her life she was born on February 26, 1924 a daughter of the late Fredrick W. and Lavena M. Arneman Ryan.

Marjorie was a graduate of Academy High School and went on to work for Meadowbrook Dairy for over 5 years. She was a devoted homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother. She was a former, active member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church as well as a Sunday School teacher and member of the church choir. Recently she was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a member of the church choir. She also was a member of the Women of the ELCA, Mary Martha Circle.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Robert W. Eller, on December 13, 1988; and one sister, Mary Ann Newlin.

Survivors include one son, Mark R. Eller and his wife Susan of Erie; and two grandchildren, Christine Kern and her husband Jonathan and Robert M. Eller.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road, on Monday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2216 Peach St., on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will be in Erie Cemetery.
