Richard S. Britt

Richard S. Britt, 45, of Erie, passed away Saturday March 13, 2010 at the Cleveland Clinic following a lengthy illness. A resident of Erie all of his life he was born on May 23, 1964 a son of William and Shirley Wieczkowski Britt.

Richard was a 1982 graduate of Tech Memorial and earned an Associate's Degree from Mercyhurst College. He worked at the G. E. for over 23 years as a Quality Technical Advisor and was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church. He was a former member of St. John the Baptist Church and was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed traveling, astronomy, F-1 racing, video games, and especially computers.

In addition to his parents survivors include his wife of 25 years, Kara Piotrowski Britt; one daughter, Katherine Britt at home; one son, Josh Britt and his wife Valerie of Erie; one brother, Robert Britt of Pittsburgh; and two sisters, Mary Beth Blasco and her husband Anthony and Jeanette Britt, all of Erie. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road (corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave.) on Tuesday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to prayer services there on Wednesday morning at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
