Ruth R. Barringer

Ruth R. Barringer, 85, of Erie, Pa., and formerly of Miwaukee, Wisc., passed away Monday, March 29, 2010, at Golden Living Western Reserve in Erie. Ruth was born on March 31, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York, the youngest daughter of the late Harry Jones and Rose O'Brien Jones. She was raised in Nanuet, New York, and graduated from Cathedral High School in New York City.

During the 1940s she resided and worked in Erie. After relocating to Milwaukee, she was an apartment building manager for many years until her retirement. Ruth was an amateur astrologist and enjoyed doing horoscopes for friends and family. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and intelligence and her love of family.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Barringer and son, John "Jack" Barringer and three sisters, Veronica Jones, Rosemarie Ewing, and Marie Karpow.

She is survived by two grandsons, Lawrence "David" Varrier of Wisconsin and Ian Barringer of California, and many nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed. Burial will be private.

Her family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Golden Living Center, Cambridge Springs, and Golden Living Western Reserve, Erie, for their care and dedication during Ruth's residency at those facilities.
