Milford Wallace Anderson

Milford Wallace Anderson, 75, of Harborcreek, died Monday afternoon November 30, 2009 at the VA Medical Center following a brief illness. A resident of Mesa, AZ for 40 years before returning to Erie in 2003, he was born in Corry, PA on September 7, 1934 a son of the late Earnest and Lucile Stedman Anderson.

Milford was a Superintendent at Valley of the Sun Cemetery in Arizona and had most recently been a licensed funeral director at Grimm-Shaw Mortuary in Mesa, AZ for 25 years before retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church, the American Legion Carl Neff Post #571, and the Siebenbuerger Club.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his former wife of 40 years, Patricia Sponsler Anderson; one brother; and one sister.

Survivors include his wife of 2 years, Marge Comstock Davis Anderson; one son, Douglas Anderson and his wife Kathy of Erie; three daughters, Sherri Stevenson and her husband Jim of NY, Barbara Clarke and her husband Larry of Erie, and Kathy Sutton and her husband Chris of Erie; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Friends are invited to a memorial service at St. Marks Episcopal Church, 4701 Old French Rd., Erie, 16509 on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the John Kanzius Research Foundation, 1001 State Street, Suite 1400, Erie, 16501.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc, 5000 Wattsburg Road, Erie, 16504.
