Dorothy Thompson Conner

Dorothy Thompson Conner, died Wednesday afternoon, July 15, 2009, at her west Erie residence following a lengthy illness. She was born in Erie, March 28, 1935, daughter of the late Fred and Eva Thompson. Dorothy lived in Erie most of adult her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 20+ years, Claud A. Conner; two sons Clarence and Andrew Conner; two brothers, Joseph and James Thompson and two sisters, Helen Graham and Florence Thompson. She was employed as an aide at St. Mary's Home and enjoyed playing bingo and cards.

Dorothy is survived by her eight children, Martin Conner and his wife Cheryl, Maxine Wells, Debra Hoff, James Conner, Cheryl Lapinski and her husband John, Mark and Mathew Garris and Melody Littlefield and her husband Eric; two sisters, Betty Moorehead and Johna Kielmeyer. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 31-1/2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Russell C. Schmidt and Son Funeral Home, 5000 Wattsburg Road (corner of Pine Ave. and West Gore Road, I-90 Exit 29).Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family in care of the Russell C. Schmidt and Son Funeral Home, 5000 Wattsburg Road, Erie, PA 16504.
