Thomas Jacob Conneely

Thomas Jacob Conneely, 82, of Lawrence Park, died Saturday evening July 18, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center following a lengthy illness. A resident of Erie for over 35 years, he was born and raised in Dallas, TX on May 11, 1927 a son of the late Thomas and Edna Davidson Conneely.

He was a graduate of Case Western University where he earned his BS in Electrical Engineering and did post graduate work and was a Fellow of Yale University. He had been a Traffic Engineer for the city of Erie for 35 years before retiring in 2003 and received a Lifetime Achievement Award for traffic engineering awarded by Penn-Dot. Previously he had been an Assistant Traffic Engineer in Cleveland. He was associated with Fellowship Baptist Church in Erie.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Joyce Black Conneely.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road (corner of East Gore and Pine Ave.) on Wednesday morning from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services there at 11:30 a.m. officiated by Rev. Damon Peterson. Burial will be in Mill Village Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity, 4635 East Lake Road, Erie, 16511.
