Fred C. Beemus

Fred C. Beemus, 76, of Koehler Road, died peacefully Monday morning March 23, 2009 at St. Vincent Health Center surrounded by his family. A resident of Erie and Edinboro all of his life, he was born in Erie on December 9, 1932 a son of the late Alfred and E.Elizabeth Hollenbeck Beemus.

Fred was a 1951 graduate of Edinboro High School and had briefly attended Gannon University. He went on to serve with the United States Army during the Korean War. He had been a Die Cast Supervisor for 43 years at Parker White Metal Company and had also been a landlord for a number of years. Fred was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Harborcreek, Cursillo Class # 35, and the Apartment Association. He loved landlording, mowing the grass, hunting, fishing, and his dogs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Patricia A. Walker Beemus; one sister, Ethel Guianen; and one brother, Earl Beemus. Survivors include two daughters, Jody Mannarelli of Erie and Cindy Skarzenski and her husband Jim of Harborcreek; one son, Fred G. Beemus and his wife Cathi of Erie; six grandchildren, Phillip, Nicholas, and Elizabeth Mannarelli, Joshua Skarzenski, Jenna Chiddy and her husband Mark, and Freddie Beemus; two nieces, Judy Ott and Jennifer Walker; two nephews, John Guianen and Ron Walker; one brother in law, Ron Walker and his wife Judy; and beloved cousins from Cleveland, the Stark, Smith, and Buncher families.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road (corner of East Gore and Pine Ave.) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Harborcreek on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m..Burial will be in Edinboro Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
