Byron R. Case

Byron R. "Casey" "Butch" Case, 62, an Erie resident, died unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, November 19, 2008 at his home. He was born in Erie on October 5, 1946, a son of the late Lawrence and Rhona Kenny Case.

Butch was raised in North East and was a 1964 graduate of North East High School. He had been the Erie distributor for 35 years for the Kirby Vacuum Cleaner Co. and retired in 1989. Casey also processed deer for 35 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Libby Sosinaski, of Carnegie, Pa.; a son, Brian Scott Strobel, of Erie; a sister, Patricia Wienczkowski, and her husband, Edward "Corky," of Erie; a brother, James Case, and his wife, Muriel, of Watertown, N.Y.; his long time special companion, Linda Stoner, of Erie. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Case; two sisters, Rhona Brown and Jean Hall.

Private funeral services will be held at the family's convenience and under the direction of the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, 5000 Wattsburg Rd., Erie. Memorials may be made to the charity of your own choice.
