Anna Mae Walczak Chrzanowski

Anna Mae Walczak Chrzanowski, 87, formerly of Holland St. and St. Joseph Apartments, died on Monday morning October 6, 2008 at her residence at St. Mary's Home East. A resident of Erie all of her life, she was born in Erie on November 13, 1920 a daughter of the late Andrew and Johanna Nowakowski Walczak. For many years, Anna had attended and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She had been a newspaper carrier for the Times News for 10 years at St. Joseph Apartments and she loved to play solitaire.

Survivors include her son Ron Chrzanowski and his wife Mary of Erie; a grandaughter, Ericka Lashley and her husband Layne of Mattoon, Ill.; three grandchildren, Rebekah, Rachel, and Jared Lashley. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Walter P. Chrzanowski on March 9, 2000; four brothers, Joseph, Frank, Tony, and Stanley "Chuck" Walczak; three sisters, Mary Wheeler, Frances Kaczmarek, and Rose Glance.

Friends will be received at the Chapel of St. Mary's Home East, Reed Street Entrance, on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. by Msgr. Joseph Wardanski, Chaplain at St. Mary's Home. Private burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery at the family's convenience. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 130 E. 4th St., Erie, 16507. Arrangements by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, 5000 Wattsburg Road, Erie.
