Imogene Monrean Anderson

Imogene Monrean Anderson, 82, a resident of the Erie area since 1936, died peacefully at the Pleasant Ridge Manor West on Tuesday afternoon July 1, 2008. She was born in Knox, Pa. on August 23, 1925 a daughter of the late Lula Monrean McClimans.

Imogene was a 1944 graduate of Millcreek High School. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church and formerly a longtime member of St. Matthew's In The Woods Catholic Church where she belonged to the St. Matthew's Ladies Auxiliary. Imogene was an avid card player and enjoyed scrabble.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Charles L. Anderson; three daughters, Janet Pokrywiecki and her husband Raymond of Waterford, Jeanne Anderson of Columbus, Ohio, and Sally Smith and her husband William of Millcreek; two sons, John Anderson of Sewickley, Pa. and Christopher Anderson and his wife Bonnie of Erie; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by a son in infancy, Mark in 1954 and a sister in law, Shirley Fuhrman Anderson on June 29, 2008.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family and burial will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Arrangements by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, 5000 Wattsburg Road, Erie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of N.W. Pennsylvania, 1128 State St., Erie, 16501.
