Ruth Hirsch Brown

Ruth Hirsch Brown, 84, a resident of Millcreek Township, died on Friday morning February 1, 2008 at the Pleasant Ridge Manor West following an extended illness.

She was born in Erie on August 26, 1923 a daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy Balling Hirsch.

Ruth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had worked for the Millcreek Police Department as a Clerk for over 13 years retiring in 1984.

Survivors include 2 sons, Richard Brown and his wife Pam of Beverly Hills, FL and Lynn Brown and his wife Dorothy of Erie; 4 grandsons, Michael, Eric, Stephen, and Kevin Brown; a sister, Shirley Tillman of Erie; 2 great grandchildren, Evan and Emory Brown; a niece, and a nephew also survive.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, 5000 Wattsburg Road, Erie, corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave., Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and are invited to services there on Monday morning at a time to be announced. Burial will be in Erie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Manor West Patient Care Fund, 8300 W. Ridge Road, Girard, PA 16417.
