Karen A. Comstock

Karen DeMarco Comstock, 65, a lifelong Erie resident, died on Tuesday morning January 22, 2008 at her residence following a very courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Erie on August 3, 1942 a daughter of William and Mary Kempisty DeMarco of Erie and was a 1960 graduate of Fairview High School.

Karen worked as a Data Processor at the A.O. Smith Co. in Erie. She was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club, and an avid bowler, fisherman, and hunter. Karen was a lover and collector of all types of penguin memorabilia.

In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband of 30 years, Joseph A. Comstock, Sr.; 2 sons, Joseph Comstock, Jr. and his wife Brenda and Jeffrey Comstock and his wife Peggy, all of Erie; a brother, William DeMarco and his wife Lettie of Medina, OH; a brother in law David Comstock and his wife Jeanette of Erie; 5 grandchildren, a great grandchild, several cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, 5000 Wattsburg Road, Erie, corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave., Friday evening 7 to 9 PM including a service there that evening at 8:30 PM officiated by Fr. Dennis Martin. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 1645 W. 8th St., Erie, 16505.
