Twila I. Clark

Twila Slingluff Clark, 97, formerly of Eagle Point Blvd. and for many years the Brevillier Village in Erie, died on Sunday evening April 8, 2007 at the Ball Pavilion in Erie. She was born in Cochranton on January 30, 1910 a daughter of the late Leslie and Mary Josephine Houtz Slingluff.

Twila was a 1929 graduate of Cochranton High School and also a graduate of the Meadville Commercial College. Prior to her marriage to Donald E. Clark, she had worked at the Talon Manufacturing in Meadville. She was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Meadville prior to moving to Erie in 1961. In Erie, she and Donald became very active members of the Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Twila was a charter member of the Eastminster Retirees Group and a member of the Church Women United and the Rebecca Circle. She had also been a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Donald E. Clark on December 19, 1987, two brothers, Lawrence and Claude Slingluff; a sister, Grace E. Rough. Survivors include a daughter Corinne A. Clark of Rochester, N.Y.; a son, Gary A. Clark of Rio Rancho, N.M.; two sister in laws and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, 5000 Wattsburg Road, Erie, corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave., on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time there at 12 Noon officiated by the Rev. Tom O'Leary, Pastor of the Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Burial will be private and at the family's convenience in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Meadville, Pa. Memorials may be made in her memory to the Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 2320 E. Lake Road, Erie, 16511 or the Brevillier Village, 5416 E. Lake Road, Erie, 16511.

Twila's family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at the Ball Pavilion and the Great Lakes Hospice of Erie for their loving care during her illness.
