R. Duane "Toad" Davis
Russell Duane "Toad" Davis, 54, of Edinboro died Thursday, October 22, 2009 at St. Vincent Health Center. He was born in Union City on Oct. 21, 1955, the son of the late Kenneth J. and Elizabeth White Davis.
Duane loved hunting, wood working, and had a passion for mowing his lawn. He was a lifetime member of the Edinboro Volunteer Fire Department and was a past Assistant Chief.
Duane worked as a contractor for more than 25 years with Davis Construction. He also drove School Bus for a few years and most recently had worked at Carter Lumber for the last 4 years.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale & Danny Davis; a sister-in-law, Bernie Davis; a nephew, Steven Davis; and a niece, Rebecca Davis.
Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years wife Barbara Edinboro Davis; two sons, Dustin Davis, his fiance Ashley Mientkiewicz, and Christopher Davis, his girl friend Becca Romanski, all of Edinboro; two brothers, David Davis and his wife Kay of San Jose, CA, and Dennis Davis and his wife Cathy, of Edinboro; and a sister, Diane Davis of Erie; Father and Mother-in-Law Leslie F. and Vera Edinboro of West Sunbury, PA, and Brother and Sister-in- law Leslie E. and Patricia Edinboro, Richmond VA. Also many nieces and nephews, and his loving dog Shadow.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p...m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at Our Lady of the Lake Church at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. John Jacquel officiating.
