Ssgt. Eric Ryan Turner

Ssgt. Eric Ryan Turner, 24, of Corry, formerly of McKean, died Friday, September 25, 2009. He was born in Erie, on November 3, 1984, son of Carl Ashley and Helen Ann Merkle Turner.

Eric was a General McLane High School graduate, class of 2003. Eric served with the United States Air Force Reserves, where he worked as a firefighter. He also worked at Corry Forge. Eric was a volunteer firefighter at the McKean Hose Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and riding his ATV. Eric especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harold and Madolyn Merkle. Survivors include his parents, Carl and Helen Turner of McKean; his brother, Cory Turner, and his wife Sally of McKean; two sisters, Karla Turner of McKean; and Erin Turner of McKean, and her fiancé Justin Snyder of Edinboro; his beloved niece and nephew Ashley and Cody Turner of McKean; paternal grandparents, Harvey and Dorothy Turner; also many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Tuesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held there, Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bill Cox officiating. Burial will be in Dunn Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to McKean Hose Company, 5011 School Street, McKean, PA 16426.
