Charles "Chuck" Fredrick Brand, Jr.

Charles "Chuck" Fredrick Brand, Jr., 81, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Edinboro, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at UPMC Passavant. He was born in Lawrenceville, Pa. on May 20, 1927, son of the late Charles F. Brand Sr. and Lucile Fetzer Brand.

Charles was a graduate of Shaler High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh. He worked as a salesman at various local car dealerships. He was also a member of the Good Time Charlie's Band for 25 years. After retirement, Charles served on the Boro Council in Edinboro, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Jeannie Brand. Survivors include his brother, Dr. Richard Brand and his wife Marie, of St. Louis; three sons, Charles F. Brand, III and his wife Joyce, of Tyrone, Pa.; William Brand of Girard, Pa.; and Brian Brand and his wife Julie of Valencia, Pa.; one daughter, Valerie J. Gillespie and her husband David, of Dade City, Fla.; also ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Friends and Family are invited to attend a memorial service at the Edinboro United Methodist Church on Sunday, January 18th at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. H. Randolf Edwards officiating. The Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, Pa. is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
