K. Daniel Davis
K. Daniel Davis, 66, of Albion, died Monday, July 21, 2008 at his home. He was born in Union City, on September 19, 1941, the son of the late Kenneth J. and Elizabeth White Davis.
Dan worked at Penn Union in Edinboro for 25 years along with farming off and on for 37 years.
He was a lifetime member of the Edinboro Volunteer Fire Department serving as a past chief, and was instrumental in construction of the new fire department.
He enjoyed restoring old tractors, furniture and toy fire trucks. He would show the tractors at the Pioneer Steam Engine shows. He was an avid hunter and member of the Ludlow Sportsman Club, in Sheffield, PA, and enjoyed feeding the turkeys. He could also be seen cutting trees and replanting saplings. When he wasn't doing this you could find him at the neighbors always lending a helping hand.
Dan was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice Davis in 1997; and a brother, Dale Davis and an infant daughter, Rebecca.
Survivors include his loving wife of 7 years, Deborah A. Williams Davis; one daughter, Sara Baideme, and her husband Peter, Jr., of Edinboro; two sons, Russell Davis and his wife Rebecca, of Crossingville, and Edward Davis and his wife Kim, of Cambridge Springs; two step-sons, Lloyd Hazlett and his wife Tammy, of Albion, and Kevin Hazlett and his wife Ann, of Canadohta Lake; one sister, Diane Davis of Erie; three brothers, David Davis and his wife Kay, San Jose, CA, Duane Davis and his wife Barb, Dennis Davis and his wife Cathy, all of Edinboro; also 5 grandchildren, Zachary, Emily, Kyle, Andrea and Erica Davis; 6 step-grandchildren, Joshua, Kyle, Kyree, Ryan, Zachery and Jillian Hazlett and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Thursday, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 128 Sunset Drive, Edinboro will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m.. with Rev. John B. Jacquel officiating.
Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Edinboro Vol. Fire Department, 125 Meadville Street, Edinboro, PA 16412.
