Raymond Daniel Wehner
Raymond Daniel Wehner, 86, of Edinboro, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Millcreek Manor. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 5, 1921, son of the late Albert John and Kathryn Donavan Wehner.
Raymond was a WWII veteran serving for the United States Navy, where he was a gang plank holder of the USS O'Brien DD 725. Raymond served in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans during WWII. He was also the maintenance supervisor for Edinboro University of Pennsylvania for 23 years. Raymond was a lifetime member of VFW Post #169, and also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Paul and Thomas Wehner, a brother Albert, and two sisters Dorothy and Irene.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 62 years, Lillian Kapsch Wehner, of Edinboro; four sons, Daniel Wehner and his wife Janet of Memphis, TN; Charles Wehner of Edinboro; Raymond Wehner and his wife Bridget, of Bealton, VA; and Richard Wehner and his wife Kathy of San Antonio, TX; one brother, Regis Wehner of Pittsburgh; and one sister, Mary Murphy and husband James of Pittsburgh; also eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be private for the family.
The Glunt Funeral Home, Edinboro, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
