William Alfred Dunegan
William Alfred Dunegan, 79, of Edinboro, died Friday, March 28, 2008 at home. He was born in Clymer, PA on August 2, 1928, son of the late Harry J. and Callista Wirtner Dunegan.
Bill was known for his woodworking, and his love for traveling. He was a member of the Edinboro-McKean V.F.W., Post 740.
Bill served in the Air Force as a communications officer.
He was a teacher at Cathedral Preparatory School, and was an active member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Dunegan Jr., and George Dunegan; and a sister Gretchen Wittine.
Survivors include his beloved sidekick of 20 years, Margaret M. Dunegan; two daughters, Kathy Palmer and her husband Cai, of Connecticut; and Connie Goldner and her husband Andrew, of Texas; one son, William Sean Dunegan and his wife Paula, of New Hampshire; two stepsons, Ryan M. McCreary and his wife Melissa, of Erie; and Justin McCreary, of New Mexico; also four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Saturday 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. John B. Jacquel officiating.
Burial will be in Edinboro Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 413 East 9th Street, Erie, PA 16503.
