Cora E. Young Carnes
Cora Elizabeth Young Carnes, 85, of Edinboro, formerly of Rt. 18 , Albion died Monday, December 17, 2007 at the Edinboro Manor. She was born in Riceville, PA on September 21, 1922, the daughter of the late William and Anna Chamberlain Young.
She was a member and past secretary of the Faith Baptist Church in Albion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Cash Carnes in 1991, one son, Philip Carnes; a son-in-law, Charles Hurta; five brothers, Clair, Walter, Paul, Charles and William Young; five sisters, Blanch Weed, Mary Dewey, Audrey Himes, Elemae and Doris Carnes; also a granddaughter, Pamela Finchio.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Hurta of Erie, Lyda Milligan and her husband, Edward, of Cambridge Springs, Betty Finchio and her husband, Sonty, of Erie, and Virginia Wisniewski and her husband, Dennis, of Edinboro; four sons, Harry Carnes, Jr. and his wife, Zenith, of Black Canyon City, AZ, David Carnes and his wife, Alma, of East Springfield, Robin Carnes and his wife, Carol, of Boise, ID, Brian Carnes and his wife, Leisa, of Cambridge Springs, PA; also, a daughter-in-law, Pamela Carnes of Springboro; 29 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, an Independent Care Group Affiliate. A service will be held there on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John P. Worrell officiating.
Burial will be in Carmel-Freeman Cemetery.
