Elaine Ghering Borland Uht
Elaine Ghering Borland Uht, 87, of 134 Meadville Street, Edinboro died, Saturday, November 3, 2007 at home with her family. She was born in Erie on May 5, 1920, daughter of the late Dr. Harold and Eleonora Helff Ghering.
Elaine served in the Navy, during World War II as an Ensign, where she was a courrier between Norfolk Air Station Photo Lab and the Pentagon.
She was a member of the Edinboro American Legion Post 439, Erie Women's Golf Association Hall of Fame and co-founder Edinboro Summer Gallery.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Donald C. Uht, on November 4, 2006, and her sister Eleonora Sandblade.
Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie Langill and her husband Fred of Edinboro; one brother, Harold A. Ghering and his wife Priscilla, of Erie; and three grandchildren, Tori Vollbrecht of Ross Township, PA, Erica Langill of Edinboro and Brandon Langill USMC of Snead's Ferry, NC; and her great grandson Hayden Vollbrecht.
A memorial service will be held at the Edinboro United Methodist Church, on Friday Nov. 9, 2007 at 7 PM. Rev. Dr. H. Randolph Edwards will officiate. The Glunt Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
