Kathleen Lavere Benson

Kathleen Lavere Hefner Benson, 83, formerly of Cambridge Springs, and Meadville passed away peacefully Friday, October 12, 2007 at Crawford County Care Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Alton, WV on May 8, 1924, daughter of the late Evan Daniel and Annie Lona Cutright Hefner. Kathleen married Louis Benson Feb. 16, 1945.

She loved Bingo, doing puzzles, and many activities at the home. Kathleen was a homemaker and worked at Isaly's in Conneaut Lake and the Holiday Inn in Meadville.

Louis preceded her in death on December 12, 2000. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Avan, Jane and Isabelle, and a grandson Mark Benson.

Kathleen is survived by two sons, Tony Benson and his wife Beulah of Grandview, TX; and Jim Benson and his wife Ann of Zepherhills, FL; one daughter, June Gerace of NY; two brothers James Hefner and his wife Alice of Erie; Joe Hefner and his wife Wilma of Hartsville, SC; three sisters, Annalee Stafford of Erie; Dorothy Roseberry of Meadville; and Ethel Woolslayer of Cambridge Springs; also many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She had a lot of very special friends who loved her also.

Glunt Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Private interment will take place at Edinboro Cemetery.
