Jean Joan (Barstow) Bartyzel, age 74 of White House, Tenn., formerly of Union City, Pa., passed away at her residence on Friday, July 8, 2011. Jean was born May 7, 1937 in Union City, Pa., the daughter of Irene (Williamson) Barstow and the late Charles L. Barstow.

She has worked for the former American Lumber Company, the Erie Crawford Co-op, and then owned and operated her own Video Store before retiring and moving to White House, Tenn. She was a member of the Union City Methodist Church, the Union City Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and was one of the founding members of the Union City Cadets Marching Group.

Besides her father she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bartyzel in 1971, and a grandson, Clayton Ohls. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Irene Barstow of Union City, Pa., a daughter, Christine Ohls and her husband, Gary of Saegertown, Pa., a son, Eric J. Bartyzel of White House, Tenn, sisters; Charlotte Hamilton and her husband, Duane, of Ashtabula, Ohio, and Judy Dimperio, of Columbus, Ohio, grandchildren; Matthew and Carleen Ohls and a great-grandson, Hayden Ohls.

Friends may call at the Robert M. Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 62 South Main Street, Union City, Pa. on Friday, July 15, 2011 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and attend funeral services there on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 10 a.m. Rev. James Parkinson will officiate with internment in Evergreen Cemetery, Union City, Pa.
