Ralph Robert "Bob" Blakeslee
Ralph Robert "Bob" Blakeslee, 77, of Union City, PA passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2010, surrounded by his family. Bob was born April 12, 1933 in Bloomfield Township, Crawford County, the son of the late Carl T. and Martha Marie (Childs) Blakeslee. He was a logger and had owned and operated Blakeslee Logging Company, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, John Krol Post #6773, and the American Legion, LeBaron Post #237 both of Union City, PA. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time at his camp with family and friends.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Alberta Williams, a brother Carl Blakeslee, and a great grandson, Marshall Robert Pike.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille A. (Edwards) Blakeslee of Union City, PA, daughters, Connie Lynn Daniels and her husband Robert of Corry, PA, Darla Crowe and her husband Paul of North East, PA, Luann Pike and her husband Glenn of Corry, PA, Brenda Clabbatz and her husband Perry of Spartansburg, PA, a son, Robert Blakeslee and his wife Cydney of Union City, PA, a sister Barbara Blakeslee of Erie, PA, brothers, Richard "Pete" Blakeslee and wife Marge of Piketon, Ohio, and Clare Blakeslee and his wife Karen of Union City, PA, a sister-in-law, Barbara Blakeslee of Erie, PA.
Bob was especially proud of his surviving 12 grandsons, Jesse, Jerry, and Joseph Daniels, Geoff, Nathan and Kyle Blakeslee, Murl, Ian, and Karl Kinal, Glenn and Marshall Pike, and Jacob Clabbatz.
Friends are invited to call at the ROBERT M. GLENN FUNERAL HOME, 62 South Main Street, Union City, Pa. on Friday, November 19, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. and attend funeral services there on Saturday., November 20, 2010 at 3 P.M. Rev. Alex Hannah will officiate with interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
