Willis David Bacon

Willis David Bacon, 89, of Sanford Road, Grand Valley, Pa. passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Golden Living Center, Titusville, Pa. He was born May 21, 1920 in Lake Pleasant, Pa. the son of the late Jack and Alice (Newman) Bacon.

He had worked in the construction industry for Hardner and Doyle Construction Company, and was a member of Local 603.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Marie (Baney) Bacon in June of 2004. Survivors include nine daughters, Shirley Stearns and her husband David of Meadville, Pa., Cindy Connor and her husband Robert of Spartansburg, Pa., Sharon Earls of Spartansburg, Pa., Tammy Culvin of Corry, Pa., Gloria Proper of Columbus, Pa., Susan Irwin of Florida, Lori Kemp and her husband Jim of Spartansburg, Pa., Carol Proper and her husband Donald of Titusville, Pa. and Linda Wright and her husband Lester of Landing, New Jersey, three sons, Willis Bacon, Jr. and his wife Betty of Erie, Pa., Kenneth Bacon and his wife Ruth of Erie, Pa. and Harold Bacon of Titusville, Pa., two sisters, Lois Kane of Hornell, New York and Velma Gariepy of Murrysville, Ga. two brothers, Ray Bacon of Hornell, New York and Art Bacon and his wife Marjorie of Union City, Pa., 25 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.

Friends are invited to call at the Glenn Funeral Home, 62 South Main Street, Union City, PA on Tuesday May 4, 2010 from 3 to 7 p.m. and attend funeral services there on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Grove of the Praise Cathedral, Church of God North East, PA officiating. Interment will be in Lawn Cemetery, Beaverdam, PA.
