Carlton W. Curtis

Carlton W. Curtis, 91, of Route 8, Union City, PA passed away on Monday, February 23, 2009 at Corry Memorial Hospital, Corry, P A. He was born April 14, 1917 in Lowville, PA the son of the late Leonard and Lena Evelyn (Green) Curtis.

He was a dairy farmer and enjoyed his hobbies of gardening, reading books, playing cards and he loved to fish. He was a former 4H Club Leader and was also a member of the land conservation movement to save farmlands.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Lena Curtis, a daughter-in-law Charlotte Curtis and a granddaughter Rhonda Sue Curtis.

Survivors include his wife Irene M. (Peterson) Curtis of Union City, PA with whom he had just celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary last December, a daughter; Rosemary Curtis and her companion Fred Dingle of Union City, PA, three sons; Larry Curtis and Richard Curtis and his wife Bernice all of Union City, PA, and Robert Curtis and his wife Diane of Atlantic Virginia; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Friends are invited to call at the GLENN FUNERAL HOME, 62 South Main Street, Union City, PA on Thursday, February 26,2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. and may attend funeral services there on Friday, February 27, 2009 at 11 :00 A.M. Rev. Linda Chambers will officiate with interment in Lowville Cemetery, Lowville, P A.
