Roger Chaffee

Roger Chaffee, 53, of Glade Avenue, Erie, Pa. passed away on Monday, June 2, 2008, at Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa. He was born May 11, 1955 in Corry, Pa. the son of Marjorie (Earll) Chaffee and the late Milton Carlyle Chaffee.

He was a resident with Lakeshore Community Services, where he helped around the residence doing chores and enjoyed resting in his blue recliner, and going out with the use of his walker. He enjoyed the company of all his fellow residents, and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father Milton Carlyle Chaffee in January of 2008, and his sister Janet Chaffee in 1966. Survivors include his mother Marjorie (Earll) Chaffee, of Corry, Pa.; two sisters, Carolyn Lay and her husband William of Corry, Pa. and Ruth Stolz and her husband Samuel of Union City, Pa.; two brothers, Ivan Chaffee and his wife Linda of Union City, Pa. and Wayne Chaffee and his wife Catherine of Meadville, Pa. also several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call at The Glenn Funeral Home, 62 South Main Street Union City, Pa. on Saturday, June 7, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. until time of the funeral services at 3:00 p.m. Rev. Tom Hunsberger, of Union City CMA Church will officiate with interment in Lawn Cemetery, Beaverdam, Pa. Memorials are requested to the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber Foundations, Inc., 100 Barber Place, Erie, Pa. 16507 or to the Lakeshore Community Services, 1350 West 26th Street, Erie, PA 16508.
