Even M. "Shorty" Daley
Even M. "Shorty" Daley, 86 of North Street, Union City, Pa. died on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Corry Memorial Hospital, Corry, Pa. He was born June 12, 1921 in New Richmond, Pa. the son of the late Hiram and Blanche (Warner) Daley.
He was a member of the American Legion LeBaron Post #237 and also the Veterans of Foreign Wars, John Krol Post # 6773 both of Union City, Pa. He had attended the Former Union Amity Church and also the First Assembly of God Church, of Union City, Pa. He loved to Hunt and Fish and spend time with his family. He had worked for Corry Jamestown as a Painter and in the Shipping Department, and also ran Daley's Tropical Fish Store with his wife, the late Charlotte Daley for 35 years, before retiring in 1986.
He was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte Daley in 1999, by two sons; Even M. Daley II, and Fred Daley, a step-son Claude Weingard, a grandson Even M. Daley III, and by six brothers; Clarence, Clifford, George, Chet, Pete and Floyd Daley. Survivors include a step-daughter Carolyn Laird and her husband Wilmer, three sons Stranton, Carl and John Daley all of Union City, Pa. 21 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren, and by a sister Mrs. Irene Fay and her husband William of Erie, Pa.
Friends are invited to attend calling hours at the Glenn Funeral Home, 62 South Main Street Union City, Pa. on Saturday, September 1, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. and may attend memorial services to be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Union City, Pa. on Tuesday, September 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Timothy D. Brunk will officiate. Memorials are requested to the Glenn Funeral Home, 62 South Main Street, Union City, Pa. 16438, or to the Union City Volunteer Fire Department, 50 Second Avenue, Union City, Pa. 16438
