Carl Robert Brown

Carl R. Brown, age 66, died March 25, 2007 surrounded by his family and friends at his home in Union City. He was born in Warren, Pa. October 25, 1940 son of the late Robert and Ruth Wilson Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dorrie Brown; two sons, Mark C. Brown and his wife Tina along with their two sons; Dylan and Carter of Waterford, and Scott D. Brown and his wife Jill and their three sons Grant, Evan, and Drew of Union City; his brother David Brown and his wife Monica of Lexington, Ky. In addition he was close with his nieces and nephews.

Carl served his country in the Army 1963 through 1965. Carl founded Clear Lake Lumber and American Made Flooring. He was passionate about his business, African safaris, deep sea fishing, and boating. He and Dorrie loved spending time fishing together and entertaining friends and family at their condo in Vero Beach, Fla. Carl was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Union City. Carl’s greatest assets were his family and closest friends. Carl was a loyal, trustworthy and courageous man. Carl will be greatly missed.

Friends may call at the Glenn Funeral Home in Union City on Wednesday, March 28th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held Thursday, March 29th, at the First United Methodist Church, 46 E. High St. Union City at 10 a.m. Memorials are requested to the Union City Community Foundation, Division of Erie Community Foundation 130 N.
