Wanda L. Rogowski Benecki

Wanda L. Rogowski Benecki, 90 of Erie, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2011 following a brief illness at UPMC Hamot. She was born August 25, 1920, in Erie, daughter of the late Joseph and Emily Kacznerski Rogowski Dziubkowski and step-daughter of Michael Dziubkowski. She retired in 1978 from Mellon Bank. She was an avid pinochle player and a member of St. Stanislaus Church.

Besides her parents and stepfather, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry A. Benecki in 1998; two brothers and two sisters in infancy; a son-in-law, Ronald Sedziak; and a sister-in-law, Wanda Sherosky. Survivors include three daughters, Emily Ann Sedziak of Erie, Margaret L. Tomczak of Frederick, Md., Rita Marie Belk (Michael) of Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.; a sister, Florence Allgeier (John) of Erie; a brother, Robert L. Dziubkowski (Ann) of Erie; and a sister-in-law, Laura Benecki. Also survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, 459 East 12th Street, Erie, PA 16503, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 at St. Stanislaus Church.
