Stella Malinski Brozowski

Stella Malinski Brozowski, 94 of Erie passed away on Friday, May 20,2011 at St. Mary's Home-East. She was born September 24, 1916 in McKean, Pa. daughter of the late Ludwig and Alice (Nakoski) Malinski.

She was employed at GE Company for five years and for 25 years, tied, trimmed and picked grapes for McCord Farms. Stella loved family gatherings and prepared all the goodies she knew her family enjoyed. She inspired her family, friends and all she met with her bubbling personality, warm laughter, smiles and "I love you's". No one left Stella's presence without a big hug and kiss and feeling special. She was the best hugger! The Times' News showcased her string bean soup recipe and she got a bigger spread than the Julia Child story that appeared on the same page. We her family, are grateful to the Alzheimer's Unit of St. Mary's-East for their dedicated, loving, tender care of Stella. You filled her days with your warmth and compassionate care.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, John Brozowski, two sisters, Josephine Klandatos, Agnes Brzozowski, and two brothers, Stanley Malinski and Walter Malin. She will be sadly missed by her children Sylvia Schmitt and her husband Joe, Ray Brzozowski and his wife Susan, Patricia Mayer and Annie Buki and her husband Joe. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two sisters, Frances Malinski and Teresa Prugar, many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, 459 East 12th Street, Erie, PA 16503, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 at St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Unit at Saint Mary's-East.
