Joseph Stanley Dylewski

Joseph Stanley Dylewski, 93, formerly of Erie, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2010, in North Richland Hills, Texas. He was born November 3, 1916, in Erie, son of the late Antoni and Stella (Krakowski) Dylewski.

He retired after 32 years at GE where he worked as a leader in Control Division. He was a life member of Polish Falcons Nest 123 and he was also a member of St. Stanislaus Holy Name Society and he ushered at St. Stanislaus. He enjoyed golf, football, Bluestreaks League, fishing, and baseball.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Dylewski, Helen Ciecierski, Pearl Zukowski; four brothers, Anthony Dylewski, John "Shultz" Dylewski, Thomas Dylewski, and Walter Dylewski; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Rosenthal Dylewski. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Catherine (Hyzy) Dylewski; two sons, David Dylewski (Susan), of Bonaire, Ga., and Anthony Dylewski (Cathy), of Arlington, Texas; a brother, Mike Dylewski, of Erie; and a sister, Mary Mroz, of Erie. Also survived by six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, 459 East 12th Street, Erie, PA 16503, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
