Mary Gaczkowski Baxter

Mary Gaczkowski Baxter, 67 of Erie passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center. She was born February 13, 1942 in Erie daughter of the late Walter and Virginia (Slomski) Gaczkowski.

She worked as a machine operator at Grimm Industries, Inc. She was a member of Holy Family Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren and her cats.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Warren Baxter, Jr. in 1969, a sister Dolores Gornic, and a brother Walter J. Gaczkowski. Survivors include a son Charles Baxter, a daughter Tina Chambers, husband (Robert) both of Erie, six grandchildren, Heather, Robert, Nicole, Jessica, Shana and Kristina, a brother Ronald J. Gaczkowski wife (Elaine) of Waterford, Pa. and a brother-in-law Gerald Gornic of Erie. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at Holy Family Church, 913 Fulton Street on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian burial at 12:00 Noon. Memorials can be made to the family c/o Edward J. Garr Funeral Home. The Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, 459 East 12th Street, Erie, PA 16503 is in charge of arrangements.
