Larry L. Bennett

Larry L. Bennett, age 59, of Erie passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center. He was born November 4, 1949, in Erie, son of Mary Platner Bennett and the late Ira Bennett.

He was a graduate of Tech Memorial High School. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Church. He enjoyed working around the house and on cars. He worked as a machinist at American Tinning and Galvanizing Co. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifton and Neil Bennett and one sister, Joyce Barnett. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Mary DeWolf Bennett of Erie, two daughters, Melissa Sinko and her husband, Jason of Frederick, Md., Heather Bennett of Erie, two sons, Eric Bennett of Erie, Michael Bennett and his wife, Ali of Silver Spring, Md., his mother, Mary Bennett, a sister, Clara Kaus of Waterford, Pa. and three brothers, Ira, John and Steven Bennett all of Erie. Also survived by six grandsons, one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter.

Relatives and friends may call at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, 459 East 12th Street, Erie, Pa 16503, on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home Friday at 10 a.m. Burial with full military honors will be at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Stanislaus Church, 12th and Wallace Streets on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 11 a.m.
