Bertha J. Kaczmarek

Bertha J. Kaczmarek, 89, of Millcreek Township, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at St. Mary's Home at Asbury Ridge. She was born on January 21, 1919, in Erie, daughter of the late Frank J. and Veronica (Pawlowski) Przybyszewski. She retired from Erie Insurance. She enjoyed gardening.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alois Kaczmarek in 1961, a brother Frank Przybyszewski, a sister, Dorothy Kinecki and a stepsister, Edna Gostomski. Survivors include a daughter Joan Bagnoni and husband Dan of Coral Springs, Fla., two sons, Norbert Kaczmarek and wife Patricia of Erie, and Thomas Kaczmarek and wife Patricia of Ft. Wayne Ind. Also survived by seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, 459 East 12th Street, Erie, PA 16503, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Stanislaus Church, 516 East 13th Street, Erie, Pa. or Great Lakes Hospice, 1700 Peach Street, Suite 244, Erie, PA 16501.
