Eleanore V. Kubasik Palotas Kudlawiec
Eleanore V. Kubasik Palotas Kudlawiec, 86, formerly of 332 Craig Street, Erie, Pa., died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at the Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center, following and extended illness. She was born October 31, 1921 in Erie, the daughter of the late Bertha (Sucharski) and Joseph Kubasik and stepdaughter of the late Louis Simmons.
Eleanore spent most of her life working in the restaurant business. She had been both a waitress and hostess at Barnacle Bill's Eastern Shore Restaurant and the Erie Maennerchor Club. Her last employment was a number of fast food restaurants as a day manager for Scott Enterprises. She was the widow of the late George M. Palotas, who passed away April 4, 1945. She later married Anthony S. Kudlawiec on January 22, 1961. He survives.
She is also survived by a son, George J. (Christine) Palotas of Meadville, Pa., a step-daughter, Mrs. Patricia (Richard) Nagle of Akron, Ohio, a grandson Scott M. (Sharon) Palotas, Meadville, Pa., three step-grandchildren, Richard and Rob Nagle and Melinda Weakland, three great-granddaughters and two step-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Joseph (Delores) Kubasik of Clymer, N.Y. and Mrs. Elizabeth (Leonard) Wiese of Roanoke, Va. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings, Edward Kubasik, Helen Masenas, Irene Dobkowski and Theresa (Terry) Palotas.
Relatives and friends may call at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, 459 East 12th Street, Erie, PA 16503, Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home on Saturday at 12:00 Noon followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center, St. John the Baptist Church of the charity of one's choice.
