Constance "Connie" Gorney Dombkowski

Constance "Connie" Gorney Dombkowski, age 75, of Lawrence Park, passed peacefully on Sunday, June 3, 2007, at home after a brief illness surrounded by her family. She was born April 1, 1932 in Erie, daughter of the late Leo and Frances Witczak Gorney.

She was a homemaker. She attended St. Stanislaus Grade School and East High School. She was a life long member of the Polish Sharpshooters Club. She enjoyed camping, bowling, card games and being with her family. She loved the holidays and preparing traditional polish dishes.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, James Gorney; and one sister, Carol Turek. Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Robert D. Dombkowski of Lawrence Park; three daughters, Rebecca Chadwick of Lawrence Park, Janet Chrapowicz of Erie, Renee Kaiser and husband, James "Rick" of Lawrence Park; and one son, Richard "Rick" Chrapowicz of Edinboro, Pa. Also survived by eight grandchildren; Jeffrey Chadwich and his wife, Julie of Pittsburgh, Pa, Sarah and Joe Chrapowicz of Edinboro, Pa. Nicole and Rob Wonner and Erica and Tiffany Kaiser all of Lawrence Park and four great-grandchildren; Gabriella, Mila, Sophia and Liam.

Relatives and friends may call at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, 459 East 12th Street, Erie, PA 16503, Wednesday, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Stanislaus Church, 516 East 13th Street, Erie, PA 16503.
