Edward Luke Currier
Edward Luke Currier, 85, of Girard, died Monday, December 27, 2010, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Erie, following an extended illness. He was born on October 1, 1925 in East Springfield, a son of the late John and Helen Connors Currier.
He attended West Springfield schools and enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Upon his discharge from the military, he returned to the Springfield area and was employed by Tru-Temper in Lake City as a machine operator. Later he worked for Tru-Temper in Conneaut and Saybrook, Ohio, in the maintenance department. Edward enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman, traveling to Canada to fish and fishing in Lake Erie.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, April Lynn Currier in infancy; his sisters, Rena Weaver, Martha Mitchell and Christine McGuire; and his brothers, Leonard, Charles, Homer and Donald Currier. He will be forever be remembered by his wife of nearly sixty years, Deloris-Rae Crowl Currier; his sons, Mark W. Currier and his wife, Sandra, of Cranesville and Zane P. Currier of Charleston, S.C.; his brother, Victor Currier and his wife, Sherrie, of Omaha, Neb.; his grandchildren, Jennifer Currier, Katie Logan (Kyle), Merissa Currier, Sean Currier (Brooke), Kenneth Currier (Erin) of Tucson, Ariz., and Michael Currier (Nicole); his great-grandchildren, Lucas, Xander and Rylee Currier; and many nieces and nephews.
No calling hours will be observed. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, January 8th at 11 a.m. at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard.
