Betty A. Chase

Betty A. Chase, 94 of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday November 10, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family. Betty was born July 26, 1916 in Rockdale Twp., Crawford County, a daughter of the late Reed and Emma (Koss) Willey.

She graduated from the Union City High School and following her marriage to Frederick R. Chase, the couple moved to the Lake City area where she has resided since. She had worked at Lake City's IGA grocery store for many years as a cashier. She enjoyed flower gardening, bowling and roller skating in her younger years. Her priority throughout her life was to take care of her family and home.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick R. Chase in 1989; two sisters, Louise B. Brumagin and Marguerite Cox; and a brother, Farren Willey. Betty is survived by a daughter, Bettie L. Stephens and her husband Jerry of Lake City; a son, Richard S. "Dick" Chase and his wife Linda (Gayford) of Cleveland, Ohio; a sister, Martha Revak of Cape Coral, Fla.; two brothers, Lynn Willey and his wife Ellen of Gowanda, N.Y. and Richard "Bud" Willey and his wife Joanne of Bearlake, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Stephannie Bischoff, Chad Stephens, Sophie Chase and Ben Chase; two great-grandsons, Chase and Colton Bischoff; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, 309 Main St. East, Girard. Services will be held there on Saturday at 10 a.m., Rev. Clyde Davis Officiating. Burial will be in the Girard Cemetery.
