Mary L. Noerr

Mary L. Noerr, 90, formerly of Cranesville, died Monday, August 30, 2010 at Pleasant Ridge Manor. She was born July 15, 1920 in Mahoning Twp., Indiana County, a daughter of the late Harry and Alice (Travis) Lantz.

She was raised and educated in the Punxsutawney area, and had worked for Punxsutawney Sportswear for many years. In 1969 she moved to the Albion area. Mary attended the Cranesville United Methodist Church and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking, building and painting lawn crafts. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and taking care of her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 2007 by her husband, John E. Noerr, whom she married on August 22, 1939 in Punxsutawney, Pa.; son, John R. "Dick" Noerr; sisters, Bertha Bowser, Hazel Dalke, Doris Manjoine and Bonnie Lantz, in infancy; half sister, Anna Brown; brothers, Harry, Howard and Robert Lantz; and half-brother, John Lantz. Mary is survived by her two daughters, Josephine N. Erkiletian of Alexandria, Va., and Sharon Scholz-Humbertson and her husband, Herbert, of Hedgesville, W. Va.; two sons, Gerald Noerr and his wife, Linda, of Lake Worth, Fla., and Robert Noerr and his wife, Judith, of Albion; sisters, Eileen Jesensky of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Patricia DeRosa of Webster, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed. Services will be held privately by the family.

Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Ridge Manor Friends Forever, Activities Fund, 8300 W. Ridge Rd., Girard, PA 16417. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Daniel R. Edder Funeral Home, Girard.
